My January Reading List

I really enjoy reading, but…I never do it.

In this digital world, I am always glued to a screen, and with a big to-do list - it seems like time I don’t have when it comes to reading for fun. For some reason when I put away my computer and pick up my book I feel guilty for “not being productive” which is something I need to work on. At the end of the day, I know that this is total hog-wash, and I’m just making excuses.

This year, I am going to try to read ONE book per month - so 12 books this year, which would be like, 11.5 books more than I read last year! Embarrassing - but we’re just keepin’ it real here on the blog.

For Christmas I got a WHOLE TON of books. Most of them are coffee table style books, that don’t take a long time to read - but I did get a few ACTUAL books that I’m adding to my reading list this:

Full disclosure - I purchased The Measure of my Powers back in MAY (yes, May!!) and I haven’t read it yet. I will say that the cover is beautiful and I’ve loved having it in my home, and I also love Jackie Kai Ellis - I remember when I met her and was stunned by her natural beauty and how graceful she was (like a dancer!) - so I love that I own it - but I really do need to get on it, and read it!

What are you guys reading? Should we start a book club? ha!

I need some books for next month! Let me know what is on your list.
